Food Production Supervisor

Job Summary We’re looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyone’s journeys better. The position is responsible for supervising employees to ensure security, safety, food specs, quality assurance of products, sanitation, HACCP and FDA regulations are followed. Responsible for labor and food cost controls as per company specifications. Maintains company policies and procedures, as well as specification books for airline customers, and serves as a knowledgeable resource. Controls food cost and other controllable costs. Works with management staff to improve performance of the unit. Prepares management reports (attendance, HACCP, labor) as required. Ensures safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Ensures specifications, airline diagrams, and other standards are accurate according to airline specifications. Ensures products are coded according to Gate Gourmet procedures. Conducts inventory of Gate Gourmet products and customer materials to minimize waste. Completes requisitions for the storeroom to maintain adequate supply. Maintains daily temperature logs and other required logs. Works with maintenance staff for preventive maintenance of machinery and reports issues in a timely manner. Performs performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and corrective action for employees; liaises with HR and support functions. Manages workflow balancing division of responsibilities among employees each shift. Determines staffing needs and calls employees in for coverage. Ensures compliance with company Wage & Hour policy, rest & meal breaks, and processes. Trains and monitors employees on proper procedures to maximize productivity while minimizing labor and food costs. Monitors daily manpower planning and schedules employees. Focuses on employee retention and reducing turnover. Reviews and ensures employees are in correct cost centers, job titles, and correct pay rates. Ensures all employees complete required training including ServSafe. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred. 2+ years supervisory experience in high‑volume food production, restaurant or catering environment; comparable experience preferred. Strong leadership and people‑management skills for staff of 30+ hourly employees. Current or previous labor‑relations experience a plus. Ability to train others and give daily constructive feedback. Excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Innovative mindset to improve operations. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office. ServSafe certification required; ServSafe‑Certified preferred. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual in English and another language (e.g., Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, Vietnamese, Hindi, Polish) is a plus.
