Service Consultant

As a service consultant you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records. You will serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer. Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document repair requests. Recommend maintenance and repair services based on manufacturer recommendations, inspections, and technician findings. Prepare repair estimates and explain recommended services, pricing, and timelines in a professional manner. Open, update, and manage repair orders throughout the service process. Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians. Communicate regularly with customers regarding repair status and completion times. Review completed repairs with customers and ensure complete satisfaction. Build long-term customer relationships through outstanding customer service and follow-up. Help achieve customer satisfaction, customer retention, and dealership performance goals. Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation while following dealership and manufacturer procedures. Qualifications Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, Automotive Service Consultant, or Assistant Service Manager preferred. Automotive dealership experience preferred. Hyundai experience is a plus but not required. Excellent customer service, communication, and sales skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Computer proficiency and experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, Dealertrack, or similar) is a plus. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
