Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f).Job Summary: As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Note: Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work (see Shipping/Receiving Clerk), order filling (see Order Filler), or operating forklifts (see Forklift Operator). (SCA 21410)Essential Functions:Receive incoming equipmentVerify shipments by comparing shipping documents with actual physical material counts from various delivery sources and stage in designated locationUnload incoming shipments, scan, or key receipt information into computer systemCheck for in-transit damage and inspect and identify possible hazardous materialPrepare receipt document manually if necessaryLoad, unload, and place supplies, material and equipment in storage areas, receipt areas, shipping areas, and warehouse areasReport tampered or broken seals on containers or damaged or deteriorating incoming shipments to supervisor and on-site government representativePerform material storage functionsGroups items together based on receiving voucher information or segregates items according to such factors as condition and type of transactionStore, stack, palletize, and/or rotate items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and special handling requirementsSegregate and move materials to holding area or dock and verify item identification on request formsPlace unidentified material in the Non-conforming Product Area for identification and/or dispositionPerform stock issue functionsIssue approved and available NSN's from stockObtain signature and date from the customer after transfer of materialForward Not in Stock issue requests to Quality Assurance for causative researchPerform material shipping functionsSelect and assemble items based on priority, type of material, mode of transportation, destination, and type of transactionProvide inventory support assistance by counting items and properly completing tally listings and other inventory documentationUse automated material identification equipment to move, stack, bin, and select storage locations of items being shipped or received or to inquire on status of itemsProvide packing and repacking support in the preparation for items/equipment and perform warehousing activities, including receiving storage and shipment via various modes of transportationUse various protective/cushioning techniques for custom packing of items to ensure safe and damage free movementPrepares, processes, and verifies all required documentationOperate manual and automated packaging equipment as requiredUnderstand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area/processFollow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards, etc.Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contraLocates, identifies, marks, re-marks, and documents quantities, condition codes, nomenclatures, NSN's and other identifying criteria for complex categories of materials and equipmentPerform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, and workload requirements, etc.Adhere to PTi quality, safety, and environmental standardsWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:May be required to handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistanceAble to exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies as applicable to position.Ability to work inside and/or outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp, and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/suppliesAble to perform work on hard or uneven surfacesQualifications:Skills and Experience:One + year of warehouse experience preferredFamiliar with Microsoft Office SuiteSkilled in planning, controlling, executing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirementsAbility to effectively read and write in English, comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectivelyCertificate, License, Registration, etc.:Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if requiredCompletion of contractual and company mandated trainings applicable to positionEducation:Minimum of High School Diploma or GEDPreferred Qualifications:Prior MilitaryThis job description is meant to be a guide.
