Surgical Technician

The Surgical Technician assists during obstetrical and gynecological surgeries, including cesarean sections, by preparing sterile fields, passing instruments, and ensuring equipment functionality. They support routine patient care activities under the supervision of nurses and physicians in the labor and delivery unit. Qualifications a high school diploma or equivalent completion of a Surgical Technician training program certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists (CST, NBSTSA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required. Key Responsibilities setting up operating rooms maintaining aseptic techniques passing instruments assisting with patient positioning performing surgical counts handling specimens decontaminating instruments supporting emergency situations They also assist with neonatal resuscitation patient care tasks stocking supplies participate in quality improvement initiatives. Ideal Candidate Profile at least 1 year of surgical experience, preferably in labor and delivery attention to detail ability to work in high-pressure situations strong teamwork abilities Shifts are night hours, with full-time scheduling including weekends, totaling 36 hours per week.
