Market Development Manager

Job TitleA successful candidate will manage an assigned territory in the US Central Time Zone and work anywhere within this region. This will include representing West Fraser wood products within the new home, multi-family and commercial construction markets. They will be both a technical resource and product expert in their territory along with growing relationships with our key customers and developing a marketing plan for the assigned territory.Job ResponsibilitiesHere's What You'll Do:Establishing, managing, and maintaining customer relationships by ensuring excellent service and follow-up and by learning and supporting the customers' businessDesigning and implementing regional marketing programs with key pro-dealers, retail accounts and builders which support corporate sales and marketing objectivesPromoting new and existing products to contractor yards and buildersServing as a subject matter expert regarding products or programs in the marketplaceEstablish, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with key pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, and industrial customersEnsure exceptional service, proactive follow-up, and deep understanding of customer business modelsServe as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert within the marketplacePartner closely with inside sales, sales management, and marketing teams to achieve revenue objectivesDevelop mentoring capabilities with outside marketing team and support staffContribute meaningful input to broader organizational planning discussions and sales & marketing initiativesQualificationsHere's What You'll Need:Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a marketing / sales role within the wood products industryFive (5) to ten (10) + years of experience in a role related to the home construction or building industryKnowledge of construction and building materialsSolid planning, organizational and time management skillsA strong ability to analyze and report in a professional manner on product usage, trends, and competitive threats within their respective geographiesKnowledge and experience at the builder level; knowledge of building codes and applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skillsStrong technical aptitude and people skillsProficiency in Microsoft Outlook and WordWhat Will Make You Stand Out:Engineering, Architectural, Building Science accreditationKnowledge of structural wood productsProficiency in reading construction documentsCompensation and BenefitsOur highly competitive compensation package and outstanding benefits include:Benefits starting Day 1Competitive starting payOn-the-job trainingA culture that strongly believes in promoting from withinMedicalDentalVision401k with company matching & retirement contributionEmployee Stock Purchase planLife InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid vacations and holidaysEmployee Assistance ProgramTravel RequiredYes. <60% of time will be in the field travelling throughout territoryWest Fraser is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D & Drug-Free Workplace (DFW)
