Product Technology M&A Senior Associate

As a Product Technology Senior Associate, you’ll focus on evaluating software platforms through an integrated commercial, operational, and financial lens. The team provides investment‑grade insights that tie product architecture and roadmap credibility directly to valuation, growth, and margin sustainability. You will provide analytical and technical support across product technology diligence engagements, focusing on architecture, engineering, and cost analysis. Assist Product Technology Diligence engagements for Private Equity and strategic clients, assessing software platforms across technical architecture, product strategy, operational scalability, and financial sustainability. This role requires the ability to tie commercial, operational, and financial performance of a software platform directly to its technology architecture and roadmap. Your day-to-day may include: Responsibilities Conduct architecture reviews and documentation analysis Support codebase and technical debt analysis Analyze cloud infrastructure configurations Assist in evaluating roadmap feasibility Support hosting cost and R&D cost analysis Prepare diligence slides and summaries Support management Q&A tracking Technical Skills and Qualifications 3–6 years in software engineering, cloud engineering, architecture analysis, or product development environments Experience in SaaS or platform businesses preferred Strong analytical and documentation skills Structured problem solving Attention to detail High learning agility Interest in private equity and transaction environments Ability to travel up to 50% The base salary range for this position is between $137,816 and $165,020. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
