Responsibilities Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate preventive and therapeutic dental care under the supervision of a Navy Dental Officer. Perform periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planing. Take, process, and interpret dental radiographs. Apply fluoride, sealants, and other preventive and chemotherapeutic treatments. Provide critical oral health and nutrition education to patients. Document patient care, clinical readiness, and treatment outcomes with precision. Uphold the highest standards of infection control and support clinical quality assurance protocols. Earn up to $116,000* annually when you enlist as an E‑6 (Petty Officer First Class) as a state‑licensed Dental Hygienist. Advanced Training: After initial accession, you will be eligible for specialized training and may compete for the advanced HM Dental Hygiene Program (NEC L35A) to further enhance your skills. Entry Pathways Licensed Civilian Pathway (DPEP Pilot): Graduate of a CODA‑accredited Dental Hygiene program and hold a current state license, eligible to enlist directly at the E‑6 paygrade.
