We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to support a small, established firm in Great Neck, New York. This position is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented tax specialist who can manage individual return preparation with accuracy, sound judgment, and a strong understanding of current tax regulations. The role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to client service while handling filings efficiently through Lacerte Tax Software.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review individual tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and attention to applicable tax rules
• Gather, organize, and evaluate client financial documents to ensure complete and timely tax filings
• Identify relevant deductions, credits, and tax positions while applying current federal and state requirements
• Use Lacerte Tax Software to complete returns, maintain supporting records, and manage filing workflows
• Communicate with clients to clarify financial details, resolve missing information, and address return-related questions
• Monitor deadlines and prioritize assignments to deliver completed returns within required timeframes
• Assist with resolving tax notice inquiries or follow-up items connected to previously filed individual returns• At least 7 years of experience preparing tax returns
• Strong background in individual income tax preparation
• Hands-on experience working as a Tax Preparer or in a similar tax accounting role
• Proficiency with Lacerte Tax Software
• Solid knowledge of federal and state tax regulations affecting individual filers
• Ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion and accuracy
• Strong organizational and communication skills in a client-facing environment
