Staff Accountant

DescriptionKforce's client, a growing organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support general accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and full-cycle accounts payable. This role is ideal for someone with strong Excel skills, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This client offers a hybrid schedule, Monday-Thursday on-site, Fridays remote from home and depending on the needs of the office, salary and medical benefits, vision, medical & dental, 401(k) plan, opportunity for growth, Key Responsibilities:* Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and timely account close activities* Prepare and analyze financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation* Reconcile general ledger accounts, corporate credit card charges, and resolve discrepancies* Prepare and file state sales tax returns and respond to related inquiries* Assist with business licensing compliance and reporting requirements* Maintain fixed asset records and support cash management activities, including ACH and wire payment processing* Manage and update Excel spreadsheets for various markets, customers, and accounts* Support audits, including external and tax audits* Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and other departments to improve accuracy, reporting, and workflowRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience* CPA preferred, but not required* 5-7 years of accounting experience in a similar role* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas* Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards* Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems is a plus* Familiarity with tax systems is a plus* Knowledge of state sales tax regulations and filing requirements* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaborativelyJob TypeDirect HireCompensation120000 - $125000
