Job Description Clark, Richardson And Biskup Consulting Engineers, Inc. - Staff Accountant II’s - Job ID #102799 in Kansas City, Missouri Position Summary The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the execution of various accounting functions including accounts payable, billing/accounts receivable, and treasury management processes. Staff Accountants will interface with Project Managers, project staff and CRB Management to ensure that all key controls around invoice processing, expense reporting, client billing, and collections comply with company standards and requirements. Staff Accountants should conduct their work with an outstanding attention to detail and high level of accuracy and be comfortable working to established deadlines during the financial period. This individual will have an integral role in development of less experienced staff and will interact daily with company personnel, managers, clients, and vendors. Responsibilities Prepare standard monthly and year end closing journal entries. Perform regular balance sheet review and account reconciliations Utilize advanced Excel functions to streamline financial processes Design and maintain Excel workbooks that interface with Microsoft Dynamics 365 that automate recurring tasks and improve data accuracy Prepare and file annual 1099 forms in compliance with IRS requirements Perform use tax analysis and filings across multiple jurisdictions to ensure accurate reporting and compliance Utilize Power Query and Automate to improve workflows and reduce manual tasks in accounting and reporting Review and analyze general ledger accounts to identify misclassifications and variances Maintain organized and accurate financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts Review expense reports for compliance with company policies and process for reimbursement Perform review for vendor subcontractor AIA pay applications for approvals and completeness, and process invoices for payment Interface with clients and independently assemble client invoices for billing and/or AIA pay applications, including supporting documentation Ensure all corporate deadlines are met Assist annual budget process for designated teams/departments and monthly review of costs Steward for Finance and Accounting Data Governance program and various document control duties Review and verify project documents for completeness and compliance with contract requirements Support with tax related matters including but not limited to annual tax provision, tax estimates, and corporate tax filings. Perform Treasury Management functions such as bank reconciliations, cash disbursements, cash receipts, and ACH uploads Project close-out reconciliation and discrepancy reconciliation Review project opening reports and open new client projects as needed Position Type This is a full-time position Benefits CRB Offers a complete and competitive benefit package designed to meet individual and family needs. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Three years of experience with accounting and billing operations. One year of experience with ASC606 revenue recognition. Demonstrated ability with expense classification, and property, plant and equipment accounting.
