Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Neuro (ICU Neuro) registered nurses are essential for providing specialized care to critically ill adult patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and post-surgical neurosurgical cases. This position involves working on an 18-bed neurocritical care unit that serves as a hub for intensive neurological patient management, requiring strong critical thinking skills and familiarity with advanced monitoring and interventions in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift times, including day and night 8/12-hour shifts at 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with every other weekend; some holidays required.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), and experience working with ICU and IMC patient populations. Must have at least two years of recent acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty submitted to. Must be willing to pass Telemetry test prior to start. Epic experience required.
• Additional Requirements: Must have basic arrhythmia experience, in-depth knowledge of neuro procedures such as ICP monitoring, ventriculostomy management, and neuro patient care protocols. Pass/fail Telemetry exam with strict criteria is mandatory, with up to two attempts allowed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neurosurgery experience, trauma level I or II experience preferred, and additional specialized skills such as arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, and cranial drain care.
• Additional Information: The role involves managing a variety of neuro diagnoses, including post-op neurosurgery, stroke, and traumatic brain injury, with interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. Candidate must be comfortable with specialized procedures and critical care interventions, including ICP monitoring and neuro diagnostic protocols.
