Location: Marlborough, MA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: Up to $28/hour
We are seeking a motivated Collections Specialist to join our growing team in Marlborough, MA. This hybrid opportunity offers the flexibility of working Monday–Wednesday in the office and Thursday–Friday remotely . The ideal candidate will have prior collections experience, preferably in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, although candidates with strong consumer collections experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Manage the collection and resolution of past-due invoices while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Make daily outbound collection calls and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Respond to customer inquiries professionally and work collaboratively to establish payment arrangements.
- Generate and review aging reports, providing updates and commentary on delinquent accounts.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment disputes, and credit-related issues.
- Process billing adjustments and refund requests as needed.
- Partner with internal Sales and Contracts teams to resolve account concerns.
- Monitor payment activity and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Assist with invoicing, statements, and customer support as a backup to other team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve collections processes and overall customer experience.
- Previous collections experience required; B2B collections experience preferred , but consumer collections experience will also be considered.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
