• Setting: Hospital-based with Endoscopy Suite and Outpatient Clinic
• Start Date: May 25, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts (varied schedule)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,150 - $7,280
• Patient Volume: 20-25 encounters per shift
• Call: Night call required every night during assignment

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology, or Internal Medicine with significant gastroenterology experience
• Minimum 1 year recent gastroenterology experience performing endoscopic procedures
• Active and unrestricted medical license (Virginia preferred)
• Fellowship in Gastroenterology preferred
• Proficiency with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (see responsibilities)
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopies, including EGD, colonoscopy with polypectomy, sigmoidoscopy, small bowel biopsy, and PEG placement
• Provide specialized procedures as needed: biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeders, injection of varices, esophageal dilation
• See outpatient clinic patients (Tuesdays and half-day Thursdays)
• Perform procedures in the Endoscopy Suite (Mondays, Wednesdays, half-day Thursdays, and Fridays)
• Take night call every night and round on inpatient consults; coordinate inpatient and consult care across services
• Collaborate with hospital staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and follow hospital protocols
