Our team of 4,000 employee-owners, equipped with innovative technology and optimized procedures, helps owners optimize safety, productivity, profit margins, and cost-efficiency.This person will be able to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Other duties may be assigned.Specific duties and responsibilities:Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.Remove and replace worn components.Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors.Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture of molten tin and lead to obtain a coating that prevents erosion or galvanic and electrolytic action.Other duties as assigned.Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.Qualifications required for this position:Education: no minimum education requirements.Experience: 3-5 years of journeyman level experience.Physical demands:Physically intensive role, requiring lifting up to >50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined or wet spaces.Able to stand and/or walk for 10+ hrs daily, able to climb stairs and laddersMay perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and may sometimes have to twist and bend bodyVision – May be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lightsAble to discern audible alarmsPotential to work with materials which contain hazardous chemicalsPosition type/expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Employees assigned to a 1st shift schedule work a 9-hour shift, 5 days a week, Monday-Friday. The 1st shift position begins at 7:00am and ends at 4:00pm each scheduled day.Travel: No overnight travel is expected for this position. Some occasional local day travel may be necessary.Required education and experience:High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational training in water treatment, mechanical systems, or industrial maintenance preferred.Experience:Mechanical or industrial maintenanceExperience in UPW or industrial wastewater treatment operations.Familiarity with handling and replacing filtration membranes, resins, and biological components.Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom or high-purity environments preferred.Additional eligibility qualifications: None required for this position.Computer-based work & technical proficiency:The role involves extensive use of computers for data entry, documentation, analysis, and internal communication.Candidates must be comfortable and proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.) and able to learn new office applications quickly.Familiarity with enterprise CMMS (Computer-Aided Maintenance Management System) software and Confluence is required for daily task management, issue tracking, and collaboration.QualificationsLicenses & CertificationsRequired:Valid Driver's LicenseEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
