Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Perioperative Care Unit (PACU) RN provides specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery, ensuring their stability and comfort. This role involves direct patient assessment, monitoring, and coordination with surgical teams to facilitate optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' vital signs, consciousness level, and overall condition upon arrival in the PACU.
• Administer pain management and sedation as ordered, observing patient responses closely.
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient status, escalating concerns to the healthcare team as needed.
• Document all care activities, assessments, and patient responses accurately in medical records.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless postoperative care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California RN license verified through Nursys within the past two weeks.
• Possess current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications valid through the American Heart Association or ARC.
• Have at least 2 years of recent PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills.
• Be authorized to work in the local area within a 50-mile radius.
