Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care nursing, with a focus on emergency care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Information

• Department: Emergency Room
• Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
• Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 36 or 48
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 17
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Average 40 visits per day)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
• Patient Population: All ages

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute care; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Skills: Must possess strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills; ER experience is essential.

Onboarding Requirements

• Iowa background check is mandatory (including criminal and child abuse checks).
• All background checks must be fully cleared before starting.
• Mandatory reporter certification for both child and adult abuse is required.
• A drug test with a minimum 10-panel screening, including opiates, is required.
• Titers for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB must be current (within the last 12 months).

• Housing Options: Available for travel positions.
• Start Dates: Candidates can begin on Mondays or Tuesdays, excluding Wednesdays.
• Orientation: Weekly orientations are provided, with mid-week starts available.
