Cath Lab Tech - Travel Job

Join our team as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and play a vital role on a team that values your expertise while working in Elgin, IL. Assist physicians and Cath Lab personnel in conducting diagnostic and interventional procedures and operate advanced imaging equipment to capture crucial cardiac and vascular data.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARRT certified Radiologic Technologist.
• Two years' experience in a Cath Lab hospital setting or two years IR experience depending on modality of position posted. Cross-training in both Cath Lab and IR preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• State licensure as required for Illinois.
• For RT candidates: IEMA (IL license) and ARRT required.
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional heart caths, right heart cath, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) from CCI preferred.
• Hybrid, EP, and IR experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with thrombectomy devices (Penumbra, AngioJet/Anarai), CTOs, PFO closures, TAVR, Watchman, and other advanced procedures preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 08:00-16:30.
• Standard hours per week: 40.
• Orientation: 12 hours of facility/unit orientation.
• Unit staffing: 1:1 intra-procedural patient ratio.
• On-call: Yes. Approximately 10-11 call shifts per month with a three-person call team. Weekend call rotation includes 2 weekends per month. Response time: 30 minutes.
• Floating: May float to IR or Cath Lab depending on candidate skillset.
• Charting and equipment: EPIC, Merge hemodynamic, GE Cardio (EP), Siemens imaging.

Responsibilities focus on intra-procedural roles including circulating, scrubbing, sedation assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, and device support. Work supports Level II trauma care and primary stroke services within a hospital environment that uses advanced imaging and procedural platforms.
