Putnam Hospital, a 164-bed acute care hospital, has been serving the local community in Carmel, New York for 60 years. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population in the Emergency Department. He/she assures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the department's standards of care and the Standards of Emergency Nursing Practice. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and the organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS upon hire ACLS within 1 year of hire or transfer PALS within 2 years of hire or transfer NALS/NRP recommended and desired. TNCC recommended. CEN certification desired.

1 year medical/surgical nursing experience required. Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served. Must meet clinical competency standards specific to Emergency Department patients.
