Job Description - Physical Therapist (185 Days) (RTP20260810-034) Job Description Physical Therapist (185 Days) - ( RTP20260810-034 ) Description Carry out evaluation procedures in a timely manner to determine the need for therapeutic intervention in the school setting. Communicate results of evaluation and specific recommendations of Physical Therapy services to the parents, educational staff, students, when appropriate, other professional, and agencies concerned with student. Plan and develop therapeutic intervention that are educationally relevant and integrated into the student’s educational IEP. Provide Integrated/direct services agreed to by Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee. Conduct periodic reassessment of therapy objectives as indicated by student’s IEP. Maintain a system of documentation that is professional, efficient and accountable that conforms to district PT program policy, including electronic documentation and SHARS documentation. Provide training to educational staff related to implementation of therapeutic intervention. Monitor and collaborate by teaching and supervising other professional and paraprofessional who are involved with the implementation of Physical Therapy intervention procedures. Monitor the inventory and use of assistive technology for therapeutic intervention. Perform all duties relating to the IDEA B Grant at 100%. Participate in program development activities as directed by Lead OT/PT Therapist. Participate in continuing education and professional growth objectives. Attend staff and other meetings when appropriate. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution valid Texas License as an occupational therapist granted by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy Examiners. Successful completion of formal school based pediatric affiliation or alternate pediatric experience. One year of experience in school-based physical therapy preferred. Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program. Successful completion of the APTA National Physical Therapy Examination. Current State of Texas license to practice physical therapy. Competencies in physical therapy service in settings with diverse populations. Knowledge of legislation regarding Special Education and related services. Must have own transportation.
