Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards
• Operate unit equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, PCA pumps, and remote telemetry monitors
• May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently licensed in the state of Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association only
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association only
• Experience caring for patients with GI, GU, wound care, acute withdrawal, altered mental status, dialysis/ESRD, or minor surgical needs
• Patient-focused and collaborative team-player approach to care delivery
