Customer Service/Cashier

Basic Function To operate the cash register and assist with front line food preparation procedures. Also wipe tables, maintain a clean dining area, and keep the parking lot tidy. Personal Requirements, Skills, and Abilities Some high school courses preferred. Must be clean, neat, and well groomed. Must have good interpersonal communication skills to work with customers and other employees. Must have good hearing for customer interactions and drive‑through duties. Must be honest. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and read recipes. Must have basic knowledge of fast‑food operations and familiarity with cash register and front line preparation procedures. Must pay attention to detail, cope with pressure, and remain calm during challenging situations. Must work as a team member and perform duties with minimal disruption to customers or colleagues. Must tolerate standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., and stooping during 90% of the shift. Must have good manual dexterity to work rapidly and accurately during rush periods. Must count money and give change correctly. General Responsibilities Ensure customer satisfaction by providing quick, efficient service and quality products. Provide excellence in quality, service, and cleanliness. Maintain consistent product portions. Maintain knowledge and operation of all equipment. Follow and abide by all safety rules, policies, and procedures. Job Training Entry‑level position requiring one to three months of experience to gain job knowledge. The job is performed under close supervision with average customer contact. Decision Making Responsibilities Set priorities and react quickly to the needs of customers, the dining room, and the work area. Follow established policies and procedures. Working Conditions Work area temperature may be extreme and noise levels may be high at times. May have to work without food or drink during busy periods. Consequence Of Errors Injured employees, dissatisfied customers, loss of revenue, and damaged equipment. Key Activities Quickly prepare customers’ orders according to specifications and with the highest possible quality. Work as a team member to ensure constant and consistent customer satisfaction through excellent quality, service, and cleanliness. Operate the cash register.
