Job Description

• Contract LPN will provide skilled nursing toIntermediate/Medical Nursing Home Long term care units for long term care patientsand Psychiatric patients.
• Contract LPN demonstrates increasingly more independencein his/her management of patient care.
• The Contract LPN demonstrates competence incaring for adult psychiatric, medical and geriatric patients. Under the supervision ofthe Nurse Manager, LPN works closely with others as needed in Ambulatory Care,
  Critical Care, Nursing Home units or the Emergency Room. The nurse functions bothindependently and dependently with guidance and direction from Nurse Manager ordesignee.
• LPN shall have knowledge and skills sufficient to prepare, administer, andappropriately document commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous,intramuscular, and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approvedlocal facility policies and procedures.
• Observation and documentation willinclude patient’s response to medication administered and the reporting ofany noted change in patient’s condition to RN or MD/DO.
• Demonstratedability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact inan appropriate manner with patients, family members, professional and othersupportive personnel involved in the delivery of patient care, incorporatingacceptable, established customer service standards into practice.
• VAexperience is preferred .
• LPN required to be a graduate of a state approved school ofpractical/vocational nursing.
• The minimum requirement for all LPN’sassigned to the NJHCS shall include Nurses must have active, currentregistration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, theCommonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• A current CPR/ BLS certificate by the American Heart Association is required.

This is an anticipated opportunity. EGA is currently identifying qualified candidates in support of a potential future contract.
