Step into a vital role supporting students’ communication and education needs in the Birmingham, AL area. This contract Speech-Language Pathology opportunity runs from ASAP through June 10, with placements determined by school and student requirements across locations.

Your expertise will help meet crucial needs in a dynamic school environment, as you assess, diagnose, and support children with disabilities. The assignment is strictly on-site, focusing on direct impact and collaboration within educational teams.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Professional Educator Certification
• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
• Strong command of laws and regulations governing services for students with disabilities and other regulated programs
• Knowledge of pediatric and adolescent cognitive, physical, and psychological development and assessment tools
• Familiarity with terminology related to physical and learning disabilities
• Skilled in compiling and analyzing data, interpreting relevant policies and regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Preferred: ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in school-aged children
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and education plans
• Collaborate with educators, families, and other support staff to optimize student outcomes
• Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with state and federal standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
