- Welding & Thermal: AC/DC welding setups, torches, gas tanks, filler metals, and electrodes.
- Material Handling: Overhead cranes, rigging gear, and forklifts.
- Finishing & Prep: Hand and pneumatic die grinders, bench grinders, power tools, and hand tools.
- Layout & Measurement: Precision measuring instruments, custom fixtures, and heavy-duty clamps.
- Interpret technical blueprints, schematics, BOMs, process sheets, and weld symbols.
- Rig, hoist, and position large structural units and sub-assemblies from staging areas using overhead cranes.
- Fabricate custom jigs and fixtures to maintain precise component alignment prior to joining.
- Bolt, fit, and prepare metal surfaces by removing scale, oils, and contaminants.
- Calibrate AC/DC welding gear, fine-tuning gas flow rate, amperage, and electrode selection based on job parameters.
- Execute structural and cosmetic welds to meet exact strength, code, and visual criteria.
- Blend and grind finished welds to satisfy cosmetic finish standards
- Perform thorough visual inspections on finished welds and complete daily production logs and safety checklists.
- Perform routine upkeep on welding gear and notify leadership of equipment repairs or servicing needs.
- Keep assigned work zones organized, clean, and fully compliant with safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and actively participate in shop meetings to address workflow bottlenecks, review safety policies, and implement process updates.
- Step in to support adjacent production tasks as needed to maintain output goals and deliver orders on schedule.
