Job Overview Job Type: Experienced Hire Primary Location: US, Oregon, Hillsboro The Intel Technology Research Group is seeking a motivated Semiconductor Research Technician to join our RP1 300mm processing facility. In this role, you will support innovative materials‑based research projects for wafer processing and advanced packaging as part of next‑generation semiconductor technology development. You will operate advanced 300mm equipment, perform wafer‑level testing and measurements, assist with equipment upkeep and process execution, and contribute to the future of Intel products and the semiconductor industry. Shift 5 work schedule: days Sunday through Tuesday, or Wednesday in alternating weeks, with a compressed work week of four days on / three days off one week, followed by three days on / four days off the next week. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship. Responsibilities Operate 300mm semiconductor processing equipment and run specialized process recipes on the production floor. Maintain strong attention to process parameters during equipment and process execution. Support materials‑based research experiments for wafer and packaging applications. Respond in real time to process development engineering needs, maintaining flexibility to support critical assignments and evolving training needs. Perform wafer‑level tests, measurements, and data collection, including the use of optical and electron microscopy. Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic process support. Follow safety, quality, and cleanroom procedures to ensure reliable operation. Document work accurately and communicate results clearly with researchers and engineers. Collaborate with multiple development groups, including operations, integration, module engineering, and other technicians, to support research objectives and project timelines. Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient processing environment while identifying opportunities to improve quality, reliability, cost, productivity, and safety. Support the Ronler Acres Emergency Response Team (ERT) as needed. Minimum Qualifications 0-4 years of Semiconductor Fab experience with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. 3-6 years of Semiconductor Fab experience with an associate’s degree in a STEM field. 8-10 years of Semiconductor Fab experience with a high school diploma. Semiconductor Fab experience defined as operating, maintaining, or installing 200mm or 300mm semiconductor equipment manufactured by companies such as TEL, SCREEN, Hitachi, KLA, AMAT, Lam Research, ASM, Aixtron, ULVAC, and/or Veeco. Preferred Qualifications Self’motivated with strong attention to detail and multitasking skills. Strong problem‑solving skills with demonstrated technical root‑cause analysis capability. Ability to document results and establish clear procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated proactive approach to continuous improvement, safety, and quality. Ability to work with chemicals, including acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, and related materials. Ability to work in respirators when performing PMs on process chambers that run HPMs. Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for several hours each day. Benefits & Compensation Annual salary range: $70,670.00-$99,770.00 USD (hourly role). The range reflects minimum and maximum target compensation across U.S. locations.
