At WECTEC Staffing Services (a Westinghouse Electric Company LLC subsidiary), we’re adding a SCADA/PLC engineer in Juno Beach, FL for a 1-year contract (W-2) .

Role at a glance

• Focus: Controls engineering for utility-scale PV and BESS
• Scope: Design, implement, document, test, and commission PLC/SCADA/HMI systems
• Environment: Cross-functional collaboration with project, electrical, and field teams

The impact you’ll make

• Engineer PLC-based control systems tailored to renewable applications
• Program PLCs using function block, structured text, and ladder logic
• Stand up and maintain SCADA for PV and BESS sites
• Build and validate Ignition HMI interfaces
• Create control narratives, O&M manuals, and FRDs
• Lead and document FAT activities across projects
• Troubleshoot system issues and drive timely resolutions
• Keep meticulous records of configurations and changes
• Support commissioning and startup to energize new or modified systems

What makes you a strong fit

• Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• 15 years in PLC programming and industrial control systems
• Fluent in function blocks, structured text, and ladder logic
• Comfortable with Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and similar protocols
• Experience on Schneider M340 or M580 platforms
• Ignition HMI development skills
• Understanding of solar PV and BESS fundamentals
• Knowledge of power systems and instrumentation
• Lifecycle experience from design through commissioning
• Awareness of controls best practices and standards

Pay and benefits

• Estimated base range: $65.00/hr. to 70.00/hr. based on experience, qualifications, and skills
