About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Casualty Claims. This senior-level technical role is focused on handling complex commercial general liability claims, including those related to premises liability, slip and fall incidents, auto liability, product liability, and other bodily injury areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mid to high-exposure claims from the initial notice to resolution, leading coverage investigations, and drafting detailed coverage position letters. Additionally, the role involves managing litigated files, coordinating with defense counsel, and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' of experience in commercial general liability claims, with a strong background in coverage interpretation and other coverage matters. Experience in all stages of the claims process, particularly within litigation, is essential. A background in reinsurance is highly beneficial. The role requires a candidate with a Bachelor's degree, and an Adjuster License is preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at evaluating liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims, and will be able to work independently while also being a key part of a collaborative team.
