Commercial Plumbing Construction

Location: Cypress, TX
Salary: $60,000 – $75,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a Plumbing Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of commercial plumbing construction projects ranging from $300K to $16M . This role works closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to review plumbing construction drawings, estimate labor and material requirements, coordinate project schedules, and help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial plumbing or construction experience who understands how plumbing systems are installed and wants to grow into a Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

• Review plumbing blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to understand project scope and installation requirements.
• Interpret plumbing plans to assist in developing project execution strategies.
• Estimate labor hours and crew sizes required for each phase of the project.
• Assist in estimating material quantities, equipment needs, and tool requirements based on construction drawings.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to develop project schedules and installation sequencing.
• Help plan manpower requirements and project timelines to ensure work progresses efficiently.
• Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules to support field operations.
• Monitor project progress and communicate schedule updates with field personnel.
• Participate in project meetings with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients as needed.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
• Support multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial plumbing, plumbing estimating, plumbing design, project coordination, or commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Understanding of commercial plumbing systems and installation methods.
• Familiarity with commercial construction sequencing and scheduling.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and construction safety requirements.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on commercial projects such as hospitals, schools, industrial facilities, or large office buildings.
• Experience estimating labor, materials, equipment, or project costs.
• Experience coordinating field crews or supporting construction project management.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, Primavera P6, or similar construction software.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
