Job Title: Swim instructor
Reports to: General Manager 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

We provide paid, hands-on training — all you need is a great attitude, strong energy, and a love for working with kids and families.

Swim Instructors teach children ages 4 months to 12 years old in our warm, 90-degree indoor pool using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

General Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation
• Promote a positive environment that fosters fun, safety, and learning
• Treat every student fairly and equally regardless of circumstances or abilities while encouraging confidence and enjoyment
• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled shifts
• Be dependable and committed to assigned schedules
• Ensure the safety of swim lesson students at all times
• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Evaluate student progress and complete required documentation in a timely manner
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student development and progress while acting as a Goldfish Swim School ambassador
• Use creative thinking and problem-solving skills to support student success
• Inspect pool areas before and after classes for cleanliness, maintenance, and safety concerns
• Maintain and properly store pool equipment including lane lines and teaching tools
• Assist with light cleaning duties including deck mopping, window washing, and trash removal as needed
• Attend required trainings, workshops, and in-service meetings
• Cross-train and assist in additional responsibilities as assigned by management
