Propane LP Driver

Location: Fond du Lac Propane Company - Onsite

Reports To: Propane Office Manager

Probationary Period: 90 days – Full time; 120 days – Part time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Classification: Non -Child Related NA

Driver’s License: Level 3- Valid US Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), air brakes, and tanker endorsements is required.

Rate of Pay: $24.47 to $27.53 hourly

Responsibilities

• Loads and delivers LP gas to residential and commercial customers using a bobtail truck.
• Prepares related invoices and delivery tickets.
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspects vehicle daily and reports any problems in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations.
• Maintain good customer relations by providing courteous, efficient service to customers.
• Pull hose from vehicle to customer tank up to 20 to 30 times per day.
• Completes new customer tank sets and operates equipment accordingly.
• Appropriate work attire is required.
• Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
• Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
• Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
• Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
• Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
• Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid US Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), air brakes, and tanker endorsements is required.
• Must be over 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Satisfactory completion of DOT physical and written test is required.
• Excellent driving record with the ability to be insured is required.
• Demonstrated experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
• Position requires on-call availability.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
• Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
• Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
• Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
• Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
• Travel is required.

• Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds in required.
• Walking, bending, stooping, standing climbing, pushing, pulling are required.
• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including work in adverse weather conditions.
