Job Description
Quality Control (QC) Manager in a metal manufacturing company is responsible for ensuring that raw materials, processes, and finished metal products meet required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001 compliancy)
- Oversee inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) , root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Supervise QC inspectors and technicians
- Work closely with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to resolve quality issues
- Maintain calibration of measuring and testing equipment
- Lead internal and external audits
- Analyze quality data and prepare reports for management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering or at least 10 years exp. (or related field)
- Strong knowledge of metal manufacturing processes (precision sheet metal, machining, welding, outside process etc.)
- Experience with measurement tools (3D computer scanner, calipers, micrometers, calipers, NDT methods)
- Familiarity with quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis)
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
Experience preferred:
- 5–10 years in quality control or manufacturing.
- Prior experience in metal fabrication, automotive, aerospace, or heavy industry is often preferred
