Master Mechanic - Budget Truck - FT

$28.00/hour Shift Premium may Apply Immediately hiring! What You’ll Do: Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs, including warranty work, on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision. This includes diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems. Act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians, supporting diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices. Drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs. Keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently, directly reducing downtime, supporting fleet availability, and ensuring a reliable customer experience. Perks You’ll Get: Bi‑weekly hourly wage (New York and Puerto Rico: weekly wage) On‑the‑job training focused on our fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks across multiple manufacturers Paid time off Medical, dental and other insurance Flexible spending account opportunity to contribute up to $270 as a tax‑free benefit for public transportation or parking expenses Retirement benefits (401k) Employee discounts, including discounted car rental and discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget cars Above perks may vary based on full‑time/part‑time status and location What We’re Looking For: Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C) Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year Strong knowledge across ASE areas including: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and near a mechanical shop with moderate noise levels Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and truck repair and maintenance Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance This position requires regular, on‑site presence and cannot be performed remotely Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage Who We Are: Here at Avis Budget Group, you will be joining a team of 25,000 driven people, performing with purpose.
