FOOD SERVICES MANAGER

Overview Food Services Manager – Position #11940 – 1st shift, full time – $25.40–$34.14 hourly at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276. Proposed schedule includes 10:30 am–7:15 pm shifts, varying weekends with an additional $2.00 /hour. This role supports the well‑being of NH Veterans by coordinating dietary services that meet regulatory and agency standards. Summary Plans, develops, and manages all work procedures of dietary services at the Veterans Home, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, agency policies, and functional integration with internal staff and external stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after high school in Business Management, Food Service Management, or Culinary Arts, including supervisory experience in institutional food management. Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) from the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals. ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association. Certified Food Protection Professional. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business management, food service management, culinary arts, or related field along with four years’ experience in institutional food service and three years of supervisory experience. Responsibilities Supervise dietary staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, motivating, and performance management. Oversee staffing schedules for daily service across ten resident dining areas and special events. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with ServSafe guidelines. Order food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring adequate inventory levels per agency standards. Manage the dietary budget, prepare expenditure reports, and present findings to administrators. Coordinate with Recreation Department staff and external stakeholders for resident and agency functions. Monitor and evaluate food service quality, revising policies and procedures as needed. Plan menus with staff and resident input, consulting with residents and families to meet nutritional needs. Address residents’ dietary concerns in collaboration with nursing staff and social workers. Represent the Leadership Team on agency groups such as the Safety Committee.
