Conventional Machinist

Our client, a leader in power generation, industrial, commercial, and specialized equipment repair, is seeking a Conventional Machinist to join their team. As a Conventional Machinist, you will be part of the manufacturing and repair department supporting skilled craftsmanship and precision work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Conventional Machinist Location: Jacksonville, FL Pay Range: 25-35 Shift: Days & Nights What's the Job? Operate, set up, and maintain manual lathes, mills, and related shop equipment to produce and repair metal components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, tolerances, and materials. Measure and mark workpieces, select appropriate tooling, and perform roughing and finishing operations. Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to ensure quality standards. Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust setups as needed, and contribute to continuous process improvements. What's Needed? Strong conventional machining skills, including setup and operation of manual lathes, mills, and related equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions with precision. Proficiency with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Understanding of machining principles, materials, cutting tools, speeds, and surface finishes. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work safely around industrial machinery. What's in it for me?
