Distribution Supervisor

What You Will Experience in This Position Directly supervise and drive distribution employees in the assigned value stream, overseeing performance management, time & attendance, mentoring, development, motivation and recognition, and discipline as needed. Lead day‑to‑day distribution activities, ensuring commitments are met while continuous improvement initiatives are advanced. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating waste using lean methodology, involving employees in problem‑solving, and fostering cross‑functional partnerships. Be highly visible to team members, encouraging participation and hands‑on, high‑involvement problem solving. Move throughout the plant to facilitate work teams, problem solving, and communication with employees and management. Establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally, and build credibility with business partners. Ensure a clean and safe working environment, supporting nVent’s safety programs. You Have Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (preferred). 3+ years of distribution experience, preferably in receiving and shipping leadership. Experience with ERP systems and understanding of SQDCC. Understanding of lean distribution concepts and process improvement methods. Skills Analytical thinking and problem‑solving. Conflict resolution and effective communication at technical and leadership levels. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Project management and organization. Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and Windows. Ability to adapt rapidly to change, work under high stress, plan, organize and prioritize workload, delegate tasks, and mentor staff.
