Position Summary: The Financial Counselor Lead oversees the daily operations of specific work units within the department. The Lead partners closely with the Supervisor & Manager of the department to provide leadership coverage and presence to the financial counselors. They are charged with leading and overseeing employee training opportunities and providing guidance to facilitate problem situations

• Computer skills; familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Office & SharePoint
• Willingly perform other duties or tasks as assigned and handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Counselor training is the primary function, but also able to handle other duties pertaining to patient’s concerns with their account.
• Assist with recording and reporting attendance of training classes.
• Be attentive and help the new Financial Counselors.
• Observe work of subordinates following customer service training as well as ongoing to ensure compliance.
• Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods. Maintain trainee records.
• Confer with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies
• Assess the staff on basis of their performance and offer feedback and support.
• Be friendly with unhappy patients and satisfy their requirements or their queries. Report concerns to Quality department as necessary.
• Drive individual accountability of employees through leading by example.
• Promote sense of pride in FOI and positive interpersonal relations among all team members.
• Suggest improvements and participate in organized efforts to improve service levels.
• Interact with patients and assist them with getting resolutions to their questions and/or concerns.
• Work TSI Verification of Debt
• Assist with monthly audits.
• Assist the team members with questions they might have.
• Monitor cases to ensure they have been completed effectively.
• Keep record of any trends that are happening.
