ERP Specialist

Position Summary

The ERP Analyst supports the configuration, data integrity, and day-to-day operation of the organization's ERP platform. The role owns the master data the business transacts on, supports the transaction workflows that move orders and inventory, produces the recurring data outputs the business depends on, and resolves the discrepancies that arise when systems disagree. This is a hands-on operational role that sits between the business users who rely on the system and the system itself. Success is measured in data accuracy, on-time delivery of recurring outputs, and the reduction of manual effort over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain ERP master data - item/product records, pricing, units of measure, customer and vendor records — as the authoritative source for downstream processes.
• Process master data additions, changes, and deactivations in line with documented standards and approval workflow.
• Audit master data on a defined cycle and remediate gaps, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
• Support order management, inventory, and purchasing transactions, including exception handling and data correction.
• Investigate transaction errors and inventory discrepancies to root cause rather than correcting symptoms in place.
• Produce and validate recurring data exports and structured files — catalog, pricing, inventory, and order feeds on schedule and without error.
• Reconcile ERP records against adjacent and downstream systems and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform data imports, cleansing, validation, and migration for system changes, new product onboarding, and partner onboarding.
• Build and maintain operational reports and dashboards from ERP data.
• Assist with ERP configuration changes against documented business requirements, including testing and validation prior to release.
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into system enhancements or process improvements.
• Administer user accounts, roles, and permissions within the ERP.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and the ERP vendor.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, system documentation, and training materials, particularly for recurring data processes that must be repeatable by more than one person.
• Deliver end-user training and ongoing platform support.
• Identify manual steps suitable for automation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support period-end activities and the data accuracy they depend on.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience with an ERP system in an analyst, administrator, or power-user capacity.
• Demonstrated experience with master data management and data quality remediation.
• Strong working knowledge of structured data formats - spreadsheets well beyond basic use, CSV/delimited files and the concept of a shared record key across systems.
• Working understanding of relational databases and data structures: tables, keys, relationships, joins.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability, with the discipline to trace a problem to its source.
• Exceptional attention to detail; a single incorrect record propagates downstream.
• Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Organized and self-directed, able to hold a recurring delivery schedule without supervision.

Preferred

• Experience with a major ERP platform (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, or similar).
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Familiarity with APIs, scripting languages (Python or similar), or low-code/no-code automation platforms.
• Understanding of order-to-cash and procure-to-pay process flow.
• Experience with BI or reporting tools.
• Experience in a regulated or high-compliance industry.
• ERP vendor certification.
