Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will turn our cafe, digital, and product data into the tools and insights our teams use to run and grow the business. Working closely with Cafe Operations, Digital & Product, and Engineering, you will build trusted data foundations and deliver a clear view of the business, our guests, and our products.This role is remote with a preference for candidates located in Pacific Time. Employees are required to be based within 50 miles of one of the following established Blue Bottle Coffee geographic locations: The San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC Metro, New York City Metro, Las Vegas You Will:Set the data and analytics roadmap, partnering with Engineering on infrastructure, KPI definitions, and a single source of truth.Drive the organization’s AI reporting and analytics agenda, using tools such as Claude to help management teams quickly analyze performance and act on insights.Lead guest analytics across the app, ordering, subscriptions, and loyalty, connecting digital and in-cafe behavior.Build dashboards and tools that help Cafe Operations track sales, traffic, labor, and speed of service.Partner with Digital & Product to design and evaluate A/B tests for features, offers, and personalization.Analyze menu mix, pricing, and launch performance to shape product decisions.Support planning, forecasting, and business cases with clear, data-driven recommendations for senior leaders.You Are:A hands-on analytics leader who enjoys turning data into decisions.An exceptional cross-functional partner, from cafe leaders to executives.A clear communicator who makes complex analysis simple.Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail.Calm in ambiguity and able to create clarity across functions.Passionate about exceptional guest experiences.You Have:6+ years in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, ideally in hospitality, retail, or food and beverageExpert SQL and experience with modern data and BI tools and ERP/Planning systems (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Sigma or Tableau, Netsuite, Adaptive); Python or R a plus.Experience using AI tools such as Claude to speed up analysis, automate reporting, or make insights self-serve for business teams.Experience with POS, loyalty, or digital ordering data, and with experiment design.Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of P&L drivers.Excellent communication and influencing skills across functions and levels.A genuine passion for exceptional coffee, hospitality, and creating experiences that people love.A few benefits we offer:Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for eligible employees starting on your first dayBest-in-class coffee training and continuing educationFree membership into the Specialty Coffee Association of America and discounts on events (including Expos and Championships)401(k) planPaid time off & paid volunteer hours50% discount on all products, both online and in-cafe; this includes food, beverages, whole-bean coffee, and merchandiseFlexible spending account & commuter benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramAdditional benefits information$112,000 - $166,000 a yearThis position has a salary range of $120,000 - $166,000 in California and NYC and $112,000 - $155,000 in our other market areas. This salary range is a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.
