System Transients Analysis Engineer

Our client, a leading advanced nuclear energy company, is looking for a System Transients Analysis Engineer. This role performs thermal-hydraulic transient analysis for an advanced reactor program.

Location: United States - Remote
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Compensation: $67 - $110 per hour.
Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary: This is a senior thermal-hydraulic analysis role centered on transient behavior of reactor systems. The engineer will bring strong RELAP5 or TRACE skills and apply 1D hydraulic network analysis to system behavior, and should be comfortable developing new analytical methods alongside applied analysis work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thermal-hydraulic transient analysis using system codes such as RELAP5 or TRACE.
• Build and exercise 1D hydraulic network models of reactor systems.
• Develop or refine analytical methods to support transient analysis work.
• Coordinate with control systems and I&C counterparts on coupled modeling.
• Document analyses for quality assurance, configuration control, and traceability.

Qualifications:

• B.S. or higher in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Required experience with system codes such as RELAP5 or TRACE.
• Strong thermal-hydraulic analytical skills with 1D hydraulic network analysis and transient analysis.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with ASME component design and analysis.
• Experience modeling control systems and I&C.
• Experience with nuclear power plant design or operations.
• Experience developing new analytical methods.
