Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care

Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse - Inpatient

Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours

Experience: Preferred - 1 year ICU experience; experience with hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor management, ventilator knowledge, CRRT.

License: RN - Registered Nurse (Georgia or multi-state compact)

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, dysrhythmia test

Must-Have: Active Georgia RN license or compact; ACLS, BLS certification

Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team that ensures patients and families receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice. Competencies for RN Clinical Nurses are derived from these models and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold nursing practices as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards set forth by the nursing association. As a member of the patient services team, individuals are expected to uphold the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: Performs the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in clinical care using evidence-based practices.
  • Provides relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Partners with the patient and significant others appropriately, utilizing methods such as bedside shift report and interdisciplinary rounds.
  • Practices according to current clinical practice standards.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration that promotes the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
  • Participates and supports performance improvement inclusive of all stakeholders, research utilization, and shared governance.
  • Professional Development and Initiative: Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education.
  • Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and students to ensure a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
  • Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research.
  • Upholds all healthcare organizational policies and procedures, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Participates in data collection and uses appropriate resources to address practice questions.
  • Resources and Support: Plans for the care of patients across the care continuum while giving direct patient care.
  • Participates in developing protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
  • Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
