Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. This role is perfect for a skilled RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional emergency care to patients of all acuity levels. The assignment is for 13 weeks with potential extension.

Shift Information

• Mid 3x12-Hour: 15:00 - 03:00
• Night 3x12-Hour: 19:00 - 07:00

Hours

This position includes 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts) with opportunities for overtime.

Facility Overview

The facility offers 24/7 emergency care with a dedicated team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff. The Emergency Department features:

• 18 treatment rooms, including private and negative-pressure rooms for isolation.
• A dedicated trauma room.
• A Fast Track area for lower-acuity patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients.
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across various emergency situations, including medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, orthopedic, and trauma emergencies.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions as per physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in clinical status.
• Assist with emergency procedures related to cardiac, stroke, sepsis, trauma, and respiratory emergencies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, advanced practice providers, and allied health staff.
• Document all patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania RN License (or Compact License if applicable).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience.
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
• TNCC and CPI or de-escalation training preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a community hospital Emergency Department.
• Strong IV and critical assessment skills.
• Experience caring for both pediatric and adult emergency patients.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required.
