Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process through technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. Lutheran Hospital, part of Intermountain Health, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room RN to join our surgical services team. In this role, you’ll provide expert perioperative care, assist in a variety of surgical procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient‑centered outcomes. Essential Functions Assess: Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills. Seek and evaluate information from other interdisciplinary team members. Plan: Use assessment information and critical thinking to develop an individualized plan of care. Actively involve patients, families, team, and physicians in plan development and education. Implement: Direct interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines, and professional licensure provisions. Manage time, supplies, and resources effectively. Evaluate: Evaluate patient response to interventions through review of goals, clinical outcomes, patient, and family satisfaction. Revise plan of care as indicated and reassess appropriately. Professionalism: Promote the nursing profession, participate in development of others, integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, and comply with regulatory standards. Valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment. RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire date. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. BSN is required for new hires as of 4/27/2025. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs. Frequent verbal communication with patients and providers. Manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment and frequent computer use. Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients; lift supplies and equipment up to heavy items. Walk and assist with moving patients and transporting supplies. Stand for extended periods when required. Driving responsibilities (if applicable). Location Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado Compensation Hourly rate: $37.17 – $56.17. Bonuses up to $10,000 for night‑shift RNs with more than one year of experience. Annual education reimbursement of up to $5,250.
