Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting licensed physical therapists in collecting pertinent patient data during evaluations, utilizing specific tests and measurements to accurately assess the patient's condition.

• Implementing individualized therapy plans by performing therapeutic procedures such as exercises, modalities, and manual therapy as directed by the supervising PT.

• Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment techniques based on the patient’s response to therapy, ensuring alignment with the prescribed plan of care.

• Communicating any changes in the patient's physical or mental status to the supervising therapist, facilitating timely adjustments to treatment.

• Coordinating care with other clinical and therapeutic services within the hospital and leveraging community resources to enhance patient support.

• Participating in clinical meetings and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care management for patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient demographic, including athletes, post-surgical patients, and individuals with chronic conditions. A focus on evidence-based practice will guide your interactions, fostering a rehabilitative environment conducive to healing and recovery.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and hold a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California by the time of hire.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating competence in physical therapy treatments and modalities.

• Be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.

• Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and fellow healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with additional certifications in specialized therapeutic modalities or experience working in a hospital or outpatient rehabilitation setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will also be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
