Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our outpatient office in San Diego, where our physical therapists engage directly with patients. You will work with a diverse patient demographic, including athletes, seniors, and individuals recovering from surgeries or injuries. Our office has state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and tools to support effective therapy sessions, enhancing both patient experience and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient exercises as per the individualized care plan tailored to their specific needs and goals.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques such as manual therapy, massage, stretching, and modalities to optimize patient recovery.
• Closely observe patients pre-, during, and post-therapy, carefully documenting their progress and communicating findings to the supervising physical therapist.
• Employ assistive devices and therapeutic equipment, helping patients with mobility aids such as walkers and braces to improve their functional capabilities.
• Educate patients and their families on effective post-treatment strategies, fostering a collaborative approach to recovery.
• Engage in continuous professional development by mentoring junior staff and contributing to a culture of learning and excellence.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient clinic operation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on orthopedic patients, including those rehabilitating from joint surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve optimal outcomes for our patients, tailoring your approach to meet each individual's needs. Your expertise will significantly contribute to enhancing their strength, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using various physical therapy modalities and techniques.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in mentoring junior staff or peers in clinical settings.
• Familiarity with electronic healthcare records (EHR) systems.
• Background in implementing evidence-based practices in therapy scenarios.

Compensation and Benefits
