Auditor

An Auditor is a responsible professional position performing audit work within County agencies and departments, as well as other organizations. The work involves financial, compliance and operational audits of agencies, departments, programs, and activities. Work is performed under the direct supervision of an Audit Supervisor and the general direction of the Director of County Audit.


Representative Duties

Performs financial, compliance, and operational audit procedures as assigned.

• Performs detailed evaluations of various systems of internal control.
• Prepares appropriate working papers to document audit work performed, as well as written reports of tentative findings and recommendations for improvement.
• Conducts audit interviews with departmental personnel to obtain audit information.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Preferences

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• One year experience in accounting or auditing.
• Licensed Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or designation as a certified Internal Auditor.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND/OR SKILLS

• Ability to work flexible hours, depending upon department's needs.
• Familiarity with financial documents, their purpose and application.
• Ability to adjust readily to changes in procedures, practices, and/or assignments.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

Salary Information

Salary Range: $66,830 - $103,251.


Salary commensurate with experience.
