Under the supervision, guidance and direction of the physician, exercises autonomy in decision making in the role of a primary health care provider with regard to patient assessment, patient management and in providing a broad range of radiology diagnostic and interventional services.Core DutiesClinical:Fluoroscopic procedures (static and dynamic)Ultrasound, Computed Tomography or Fluoroscopic guided biopsiesUltrasound, Computed Tomography or Fluoroscopic guided drainages and drainage catheter placementsArthrogramsMyelogramsVascular Access Procedures (Arteriograms, Venograms)Venous Access Procedures (Declots, Permacath Placements, Central Line Placement)IVC Filter PlacementFistulagramsGastrostomiesGI StudiesUrogramsVCUGRetrograde UrethrogramsOther clinical duties include:Obtain clinical history from patient or medical recordEvaluate Medical Images, review preliminary reports and images with supervising physician, and prepare technical reports that will be reviewed and signed off by the supervising physicianAssess and evaluate the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patientParticipate in patient management, including prescriptive powers for acquisition of additional imaging procedures, following review with the supervising physicianObtain consent for and administer and/or order intravenous medications and contrast media, under the supervision of a physicianParticipate in facility quality assurance programRequirementsBe a graduate of an educational program recognized by the CBRPA. Certified by the CBRPA or be considered eligible for the CBRPA certification examination. Maintenance of an active radiographer registration status. Current certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS) skills.
