Employee Benefits & ERISA Attorney

Senior Employee Benefits & ERISA Attorney ($170,000–$200,000/year) Location: Roseland, NJ — Hybrid Experience: 5–10 years Mandatory Requirements to Apply J.D. from an accredited law school. Active New Jersey Bar admission and good standing. 5+ years of legal experience with significant ERISA, employee benefits, or retirement plan experience. Experience advising clients independently and managing matters. Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and communication skills. Client-focused approach with excellent attention to detail. Advise employers, plan sponsors, and fiduciaries on ERISA compliance, fiduciary duties, and tax requirements . Design, draft, amend, and terminate retirement plans, including 401(k), profit sharing, defined benefit, cash balance, and ESOP plans . Handle Form 5500 filings , IRS/DOL matters, audits, and correction programs such as VCP, DFVC, and VFCP. Advise on health and welfare plans, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, executive compensation, and Section 409A . Support employee benefits issues in M&A transactions , while managing client relationships and mentoring junior attorneys. Bonus Qualifications LL.M. in Taxation or Employee Benefits. New York Bar admission or willingness to obtain. Experience with IRS/DOL correction programs. M&A employee benefits and executive compensation experience. Existing client relationships or a portable book of business.
