What you can expect in this role: As a Data Engineer, you’ll design and build the data foundations that power analytics and AI. You will work hands‑on with modern cloud platforms and play a key role in transforming raw data into trusted, analysis‑ready assets that drive client value. Design and build scalable data pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL, and similar frameworks and languages to ingest, transform, and prepare data for analytics and AI use cases. Develop AI‑first, cloud‑native data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and similar modern cloud data platforms. Define and build scalable ingestion patterns for structured and unstructured data. Analyze data structures and sources to define transformation logic and ensure data quality and consistency. Implement data models and governance practices, including privacy controls such as PII masking and tokenization. Apply software development best practices—including version control, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines—to deliver reliable and maintainable code. Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into clear technical designs using source‑to‑target mapping and logical models. Support data consumption needs by creating BI‑ready datasets and enabling reporting, dashboards, and AI use cases. Engage directly with clients to share progress, provide recommendations, and align on deliverables. Explore emerging tech, including practical applications of AI/ML to automate data workflows, improve pipeline observability, and optimize performance. Bring a forward‑thinking mindset to AI‑powered solutions, including agentic solutions and LLM integrations, helping clients and teams navigate what's possible as the AI landscape evolves. Tools for success: We’re looking for engineers who can bridge technical expertise with a consultative mindset and a drive for innovation. Successful candidates will bring: 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software development. Proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands‑on experience building or maintaining data pipelines. Experience with cloud hyperscaler platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with modern cloud data stacks, such as Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, or Redshift. Understanding of AI/ML concepts, and curiosity to explore their role in data automation and augmentation. Experience with data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, or analytical data models. Knowledge of software development practices, including Git, automated testing, and CI/CD. Awareness of data governance and security principles, including privacy, cataloging, and compliance. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent training and project experience. This role requires the willingness and ability to be onsite at the Inspire11 or client location depending on project needs to maximize in‑person collaboration and build stronger relationships. Compensation at Inspire11 Inspire11 follows Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Pay Act of 1963, the Illinois Human Rights Act, the Illinois Equal Wage Act, and the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003. We believe that people performing the same role at the same level, with similar levels of ability or experience, should be similarly compensated. We also believe that the most critical factors driving compensation should be an Eleven’s skill, experience, performance, responsibility, and effort. Compensation may be increased or decreased at Inspire11’s discretion based on an employee’s performance reviews, market conditions, and the Company’s financial performance. Compensation range: $89,700 – $147,000 USD. Bonuses Employees in Sales, Recruiting, or Leadership may earn periodic bonuses based on sales, revenue, client‑specific or practice‑specific targets. Bonuses are awarded only if performance expectations are met, the target is met, and the Company’s financial performance permits the bonus to be paid out. Options or Other Equity Inspire11 offers a legacy program that allows high‑performing employees to purchase shares of the Company through an affiliate and a newer program that grants options annually to high‑performing employees based on performance reviews, manager’s recommendation, and leadership approval. Options vest over a period. Full‑time employees may also have access to tax‑advantaged savings accounts: flexible savings, limited‑purpose flexible savings, healthcare savings, and dependent‑care savings accounts. Paid Time Off and Leave Inspire11 grants statutory leave required by federal, Illinois, or other applicable law. The self‑managed paid time off policy has no upper limits. All full‑time employees are expected to take a minimum of one week of PTO each year. Paid Parental Leave Inspire11 offers paid parental leave: birthing parents up to 12 weeks, non‑birthing parents up to 6 weeks, plus short‑term disability benefits; total 18–20 weeks combined. Eight paid holidays.
