3rd Shift Production SupervisorAs a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising production activities, coordinating workflow, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Your role involves leading and motivating production teams, optimizing production processes, and achieving production targets.Job Responsibilities:Maintain manning head count as directed by managementSet up daily manning and scheduling as required by production scheduleMaintain attendance records of all direct reportsResponsible for correcting punch errors and open conditions for direct reports in the electronic payroll systemEnsure that all personnel are assigned and in place at start of shiftConduct safety investigations and fill out proper documentationConduct employee conferences for direct reportsConduct 90-day and annual evaluations for direct reports as needed and in a timely mannerProvide direction and training for all direct reportsResponsible for monitoring employee performance and making modifications as needed to meet production requirements. This could include retraining, performance improvement plans or moving the employee to a new positionPerform plant start-up and shutdown proceduresEnsure that production equipment is operating to optimum efficiencyStart and stop production equipment as neededStart and stop support equipment as needed (i.e. grinders, compressors, chillers, etc.Adjust material system settings as requiredMonitor and maintain material levels. Troubleshoot and correct material flow issues (i.e. running out of material)Periodic checks to the Pressco and leak detector systemsClean ink jet coders as requiredComplete daily shift production reportsMaintain Operation Excellence standards of housekeeping- sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment where necessaryMonitor finished product flow from extruder to packaging equipment. Be able to clear jams and resume process flow as neededMonitor material levelsComplete all required reports and paperworkCommunicate effectively with the other shift supervisorsComplete assigned daily line auditsManage completion of held ware and associated documentationParticipate in monthly and annual inventory counting as assignedIn the absence of immediate supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties.Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:High School diploma or equivalentDemonstrate ability to properly startup and shutdown all production equipmentDemonstrate advanced knowledge and application of SPC, GMP, and OE procedures and documentationDemonstrate knowledge and operating ability of resin systemsMonitor any change overs that have been scheduled for the shiftDemonstrates the ability to make sound business decisions based on past occurrences and feedback from key team membersPossess good people and communication skillsDemonstrate experience and ability to provide direction and training for machine operators, Line chiefs, material handlers, utility and inspector packersDemonstrate the ability to successfully direct and lead a teamHave advanced working knowledge of computer and touch screen operation
