Early Intervention Specialist

Overview The Early Childhood Intervention Specialist (EIS) at Metrocare delivers developmental therapies and service coordination for infants and toddlers up to age 3, providing services in natural settings such as home, daycare, community environments, and telehealth. The EIS supports families through intake, evaluation, case management, specialized skills training, and coordination with community resources. Responsibilities Provide developmental activities with infants/toddlers in natural environment settings. Conduct developmental screenings, intake, and referrals. Organize and conduct evaluations and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs). Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation. Provide service coordination, case management, and specialized skills training (SST). Inform families on community resources, family systems, and service delivery systems. Develop and monitor transition plans for ECI families. Attend community and transition planning meetings as required. Collaborate with members of the ECI interdisciplinary team. Maintain charts, position benchmarks, and training documentation. Deliver 88 hours a month of direct client services in natural environment settings. Meet all performance and service timelines required by the ECI State Office and Metrocare Services. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of State, local, HHSC, ECI, and Metrocare Services rules, regulations, procedures, and policies. Organized with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to frequent procedural changes. Conduct responsibilities in accordance with ethical standards, state contract, professional standards, and applicable state/federal laws. Ability to handle multiple tasks and special projects simultaneously, working autonomously. Professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. Qualifications BA/BS in Early Childhood Intervention, Special Education, or a field commensurate with Early Childhood Intervention. 3 credits in Early Childhood Development or Special Education required. Preferred: Fully Qualified EIS with Texas State HHSC ECI office, active status. Basic math skills to work with reports and numbers. Common‑sense reasoning for simple instructions; ability to handle standardized situations with occasional variables. Computer skills: use of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Metrocare computer software (Netsmart MyAvatar); Internet resource utilization. Preferred: Licensed as a Fully‑Qualified EIS by Texas State; current Texas Driver License or valid driver license in another state (must obtain Texas license within 3 months). Liability insurance required if operating a vehicle for Center business.
